First approach to the world of leather craft. Discovering  a material and techniques hitherto unknown to me.

I wanted to familiarise myself with the material, learn the techniques and tools specific to my work, master its complexity and confront its limits and constraints. So I set about designing and making a backpack to get to the heart of the matter.

In a way, this project is a trial run, with me building all the necessary components step by step: drawing the pattern, studying techniques through online tutorials, discovering tools and handling them as a self-taught artist.
