My name is Clément and I’m 24. I’m a graduate of the ESAD in Reims in object and interior design and of the Design Academy Eindhoven in design.
At this academy, I worked alongside Joost Jansen to hone my design approach to clothing and accessories. This programme has enabled me to deepen my thinking while making and developing new creative processes.
I’m convinced that the designer alone can’t do anything if he detaches himself from the craftsman, and that he needs to understand in order to be able to design. That’s why I’ve always tried to master the elements and materials I work with, whether it is wood, metal, paper or leather. I attach particular importance to the quality not only of the design, but also of the materials, colours, finishes and manufacture. In my work, I aim to bring out the subtlety of the handmade, and all that this conveys in terms of value. For me, it’s these details that bring preciousness and authenticity to an object.
My vocation as a designer is to create feelings. Through objects, prints, textures, garments and colors.
Feelings of being part of something bigger.
of identity.
of uniqueness.
of preciousness.
of connection.
of proximity.
To achieve that I work mainly with processes that allow the unique within the series, materials and treatments that never react two time the same.
